
ECU Student-Athletes Named To CSC Academic All-District® Team

DALLAS, Texas – Lucas Augustsson, Philip Linberg Bondestad, Macie Burcham, Regina Di Chiara, Courtney Frank, Alexandra Giacolone, Oda Kilsti and Danielle Modder have been selected to the 2024 College Sports Communicators At-Large Academic All-District® Team.

Augustsson has also advanced to the national ballot and will be considered for the Academic All-America® First, Second and Third Teams.

The 2024 Academic All-District® At-Large Team selected by College Sports Communicators, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combines performance in athletics and academics.

Augustsson (men's golf) became the eighth player in program history to earn multiple all-conference honors following his sophomore campaign. He appeared in all 12 events recording seven Top 10 finishes which included a pair of tournament wins. Augustsson posted a team-best 71.29 scoring average (second best single-season average) and is tied for the most career wins in the program with four. In the classroom, he has complied a 3.97 cumulative GPA in entrepreneurship earning Dean's List honors in the fall of 2023 and Chancellor's list accolades in the spring of 2024.

Bondestad (men's golf) participated in 12 events recording five Top 10 placements including a pair of Top 5 finishes and sported a team second-best 72.63 stroke average, which is tied for 13th on the single-season charts. His best career outing came during the spring of 2024 at the Cutter Creek Intercollegiate shooting personal low 208 (8-under) finishing in sole possession of second place. Bondestad, who owns a 3.84 cumulative GPA in business management, earned Dean's List honors in both the fall and spring semesters.

Burcham (women's golf), a speech and hearing science major, sports a 3.99 cumulative GPA and was named to the Chancellor's List for both the fall of 2023 and spring of 2024 semesters. She also enjoyed a stellar year on the links as well, competing in eight events for a scoring average of 74.33. The Greensboro native earned her first career Top 10 finish at the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational with a final scorecard of 7-over par 223 and tied a career-low in a single round with a 1-under par 69 in the second round of the Edisto Island Invitational.

Di Chiara (lacrosse) appeared in 15 games while making 10 starts and posting 15 goals and a pair of assists on the year in 2024. In the classroom, Di Chiara posted a 3.93 cumulative GPA while earning her degree in special education, general curriculum and was a Chancellor's list honoree in the fall of 2023.

On the field in 2024, Frank (lacrosse) started in all 16 games for the Pirates, recording 30 ground balls and 16 caused turnovers as a leader on the defensive end of the field. In addition to her efforts on the field, Frank posted a cumulative GPA of 3.74 and was a Chancellor's list member in fall of 2023, graduated with a degree in psychology.

Giacolone (lacrosse) finished her career as the most decorated defensive player in program history after posting 34 ground balls and 21 caused turnovers to earn Second-Team All-American Conference recognition for the 2024 season. In the classroom, Giacolone compiled a 3.95 cumulative GPA in her studies for her special education, general curriculum degree and was Chancellor's List honoree in fall of 2023 and a Dean's List member in the spring of 2024.

Kilsti (women's golf), who earned her master's in communication in May, posted a 4.0 cumulative GPA and competed in seven events for the Pirates in 2023-24 to compile a scoring average of 73.76. She finished her Pirate career with a career scoring average of 74.05, the third-best in program history. Kilsti carded two Top 5 finishes and three Top 10 placements. Her best finish of the season was a tie for fourth at the Ironwood Invitational with a final scorecard of 3-over par 219. She was also named to the Dean's List for the fall 2023 semester.

Modder (women's golf) recently competed her sophomore season with a 3.88 cumulative GPA as a management major and earned a spot on the Chancellor's List and Dean's List in the fall of 2023 and spring of 2024 respectively. She competed in all 10 events for the Pirates for a scoring average of 74.00. Modder posted a Top 5 and a Top 10 finish, highlighted by a tie for third at the Edisto Island Invitational where she finished with a final scorecard of 1-under par 209.
