
Muzzolon Wins Third Set Tiebreak To Lift ECU Past N.C. Central, 4-3

GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina women's tennis team's home opener went down to the wire as Martina Muzzolon clinched a third-set tiebreak for the winning tally in a thrilling 4-3 victory over N.C. Central at the River Birch Tennis Center Friday afternoon.
The Pirates improved to 1-2 overall while the Eagles remained winless at 0-3.
ECU solidified its first doubles point of the campaign with victories on court one (Ines Bachir and Xenia Jeromin) and court three (Anne Lou Champion and Martina Muzzolon).
Pirate freshmen Jeromin and Lilly Lancaster both notched their first collegiate dual singles wins by identical 6-3, 6-2 scorelines on courts six and seven while Muzzolon broke a 6-6 deadlock in her third-set tiebreak to seal the match by a 6-1, 5-7, 7-6 (8-6) margin on court two.
