GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina softball team is set to host its final home tournament this weekend ahead of the start of American Conference play as the Pirates host Campbell, St. John's and Rider in the Battle at the Max at Max R. Joyner Family Stadium.
All games this weekend are free to the public.
Anna Sawyer leads the Pirates at the plate with a batting average of .440 while Jenna Krol leads the team in RBI with 16 and Gabby Fowler is the top home run hitter with three. Sydney Rainford (2-1) holds a 3.26 ERA in 34.1 innings of work in the circle.
Last Time Out
Anna Sawyer and Kanisha Anderson both went 2-for-3 at the plate while Sydney Rainford earned a complete game win as East Carolina upset No. 18/23 Duke, 5-4, on Tuesday night at Smith Softball Stadium.
Campbell Series History
ECU leads the all-time series with Campbell 41-13 as the Pirates have won the last four meetings including last year's 6-0 win at home.
Rider Series History
ECU leads the all-time series with Rider 7-1 with the lone loss coming at the Purple-Gold Invitational in 2022.
St. John's Series History
ECU leads the all-time series with St. John's 8-5 as Friday will be the first meeting between the two programs since 2018.
