
Koebke & Wilkes Earn Weekly Lacrosse Honors

IRVING, Texas - East Carolina lacrosse players Maya Koebke and Kayla Wilkes have been named American Conference Attack Player and Midfielder of the Week, respectively, the league announced Monday. The honors are Koebke's first and Wilkes' second of her career.
Koebke, a Vienna, Va. native, was a shoo-in for Attack Player of the Week after a truly remarkable outing against William & Mary on Wednesday. The senior broke the program record for both points and assists in a game with nine points coming on three goals and six assists. In what turned out to be a 16-9 win for the Pirates, the team scored the final nine goals of the game in the second half, five of which were influenced by Koebke with one goal and four helpers coming in the second half alone. Due to injury, she did not play in ECU's Saturday win over Old Dominion.
Wilkes, a senior from Sinking Spring, Pa., put together another terrific week with two goals, one assist, six ground balls, four caused turnovers and four draw controls across two wins. She contributed two points and a season-high four ground balls in the team's 9-8 win over Old Dominion on Saturday, contributing on both ends in what became a critical conference victory for the team.
Wilkes, the reigning American Conference Midfielder of the Year, earned Player of the Week recognition once last year. This is her first honor of the 2026 season.
The Pirates will be back in action on Wednesday as they travel to High Point for a 6 p.m. tilt with the Panthers.
