Tulsa, Okla. – East Carolina travels to Tulsa for a three-game series with the Golden Hurricane this weekend seeking to win its first-ever series at Tulsa and first series against the Golden Hurricane since 2011.
Friday's contest will start at 6 p.m. ET, followed by a 3 p.m. ET start on Saturday and a 1 p.m. ET first pitch on Sunday. All three games will be streamed on ESPN+.
ECU returns to the field after an impressive series win over the league leader in South Florida last weekend. Gabby Fowler and Erin Parker both hit walk-off home runs to lift ECU over USF on Friday and Saturday respectively while Julia Apostolakos threw a complete game shutout in Friday's win to earn American Conference Honorable Mention. Kanisha Anderson (.383) leads the Pirates at the plate and is second in the American in hits with 62. Trinity Nichols (.320), Anna Sawyer (.317) and Macey Ciamillo (.314) join Anderson as Pirate batters that are hitting above .300. Julia Apostolakos (3.01 ERA, 94 Ks), Sydney Rainford (3.37 ERA, 52 Ks) and Taylor Apple (3.94 ERA, 24 Ks) make up ECU's three top arms in the circle.
Scouting the Golden Hurricane
Tulsa enters the weekend having lost three straight including a 7-2 loss at home to No. 6 Arkansas on Wednesday. Claira Skaggs leads the Golden Hurricane offensively with nine home runs and a batting average of .333 while Maura Moore is the main arm in the circle with 107 strikeouts over 125.2 innings.
Series History
Tulsa leads the all-time series with East Carolina 44-15, including a 22-4 all-time mark against the Pirates at home. ECU is seeking to win its first series against the Golden Hurricane since 2011 and its first series at Tulsa.
