Raleigh, N.C. – East Carolina is set for its final midweek game of the season on Tuesday when the Pirates travel to Raleigh for a rematch with NC State at Dail Softball Stadium.
First pitch is set for 6 p.m. and the game will be streamed on ACC Network Extra with Ben George (play-by-play) and Faith Cain (analyst) on the call.
ECU is coming off of its first-ever road series win at Tulsa last weekend, bouncing back to win games two and three after dropping the series opener in extras.
Kanisha Anderson (.378) leads the Pirates at the plate and is second in the American in hits with 65. Anna Sawyer (.327), Trinity Nichols (.316) and Macey Ciamillo (.303) join Anderson as Pirate batters that are hitting above .300. Julia Apostolakos (2.88 ERA, 109 Ks), Sydney Rainford (3.31 ERA, 54 Ks) and Taylor Apple (3.87 ERA, 24 Ks) make up ECU's three top arms in the circle. Rainford recorded a complete game shutout over the weekend while Apostolakos tossed 15 strikeouts in the Tulsa series to earn American Conference Honorable Mention for the second straight week.
