Pirates Fall In Five Innings At NC State, 10-2

Raleigh, N.C. – The East Carolina softball team fell to NC State in five innings, 10-2, on Tuesday evening at Dail Softball Stadium.
Gabby Fowler led the Pirates (29-24) with a two-run home run.
NC State jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning and extended its lead with back-to-back home runs in the bottom of the third.
The Pirates cut into the Wolfpack's lead on Fowler's blast but NC State drove in five runs in the bottom of the fifth for the run-rule win.
Taylor Apple (5-4) took the loss in the circle with 1.2 innings of work.
