
Pirates Wrap Up Regular Season Against UTSA On Senior Weekend

GREENVILLE, N.C. – East Carolina returns home to wrap up the regular season and honor its seniors ahead of the American Conference Softball Championship this weekend when the Pirates host UTSA at Max R. Joyner Family Stadium.
Due to weather on Saturday, the teams will play a doubleheader on Friday with the first game set for a 4 p.m. ET start. Sunday's series finale is scheduled to begin at noon ET. All three games will be streamed on ESPN+ with Patrick Johnson (play-by-play) and Courtney Layton (analyst) on the call.
Prior to Sunday's game, ECU will honor its five seniors in Anna Sawyer, Mary-Kathryn Scott, Chloe Geijer, Michaela Weber and Hailey Deter. Sawyer currently ranks top 10 in program history with 192 career hits and is top five in school history with 40 career doubles.
Kanisha Anderson leads ECU at the plate with a .377 batting average and 66 hits, which ranks second in the American. Gabby Fowler is the team's top power threat with five home runs and Anna Sawyer (.329), Trinity Nichols (.312) and Macey Ciamillo (.300) provide secondary offense. Julia Apostolakos (2.99 ERA, 109 Ks) is the Pirates' top arm in the circle, supported by Sydney Rainford (3.55 ERA, 55 Ks) and Taylor Apple (3.99 ERA, 24 Ks).
Scouting the Roadrunners
UTSA is led at the plate by Sabrina Wick's .364 batting average and 64 hits while Taryn Madlock (9 HRs) and Brookelynn Meador (8 HRs) lead the team in home runs. Arlette Hernandez leads the Roadrunners in the circle with a 3.71 ERA over 169.2 innings pitched.
