Bio
Career: Undoubtedly one of the most decorated and prolific defenders in program history, Giacolone finishes her career with East Carolina program records with 90 caused turnovers and 146 ground balls in 67 games played… Started all but two games in her career… Three-time AAC All-Conference honoree… Along with Frances Kimel was one of the first two IWLCA All-Region honorees.

2024: Team Captain… Started all 16 games… Registered 34 ground balls and 21 caused turnovers… 21 caused turnovers were just four shy of her own program record for a single season… Posted five ground balls on three occasions vs. Temple (March 23), Clemson (April 2) and Florida (April 6)… Had a season-high four caused turnovers in the Florida game… Contributed multiple ground balls on nine occasions and multiple caused turnovers on five occasions… Named Second-Team All-Conference… Presented the Depalo Award at the 2024 Breakfast of Champions.
2023: Started all 18 games... Recorded ECU record 46 ground balls and 25 caused turnovers... Eight ground balls against Queens (2/25), a program record... Five caused turnovers twice, against Queens and Wofford (3/5)... Also had five ground balls against Wofford and Campbell (2/22)... Had three-plus ground balls eight times on the season... Had multiple caused turnovers six times... Fifth in the AAC in caused turnovers (1.33) and ground balls per game (2.50)... One-time AAC Defensive Player of the Week... Second-Team All-AAC honoree... IWLCA All-Region honoree... Made Chancellor's List in the Fall and Spring... Named to the ECU All-Academic Team.
2022: Appeared and started in 17 games... Led the team with 39 ground balls and 24 caused turnovers... Also recorded one assist... Recorded six ground balls and three caused turnovers against Old Dominion (4/2)... Recorded multiple ground balls 12 times on the season... Second in the American Conference in ground balls per game (2.29)... Fifth in the conference in caused turnovers per game (1.41)... Also forced three turnovers against Vanderbilt (4/9)... 1x AAC Weekly Honor Roll... Second-Team All-AAC honoree... Named to the AAC All-Academic Team.

High School: Lettered for four years under head coach Rebecca Thorn at Eastport South Manor High School…Helped the Sharks win County Championships each of her full seasons on the team…Led Eastport South to a State Championship during her junior year, earning a spot on the All-Tournament Team for Suffolk County and the All-State Tournament team as well as being named to the All-County team…Named the team’s Unsung Hero in 2018…Also excelled in basketball and soccer, helping both teams to league championships as well as being named to the All-League team in hoops.
