Bilal-Mack, Collins, Hart Guide Split Lady Pirate Track Squads

GREENVILLE, N.C. - Amy Hart captured her first pole vault title of the season while Aisha Bilal-Mack recorded a third-place finish in the 600-yard run to headline the East Carolina women's track performance at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational in Lincoln, Neb., and the Carolina Invitational in Chapel Hill during split squad participation last weekend.
Hart, who has turned in top 10 finishes in all four meets so far during the indoor season, posted a vault of 3.60 meters at the Eddie Smith Fieldhouse in Chapel Hill to edge out teammate Brie Berkowitz, who picked up a sixth-place standing with an effort of 3.15. Jessica Collins was the Lady Pirates' other top performer at the Carolina Invitational, booking a personal-record of 5:02.60 in the mile run (third-place). Danielle Eiler continued her development with her third-straight top 10 (fourth) finish after logging a shot put distance of 12.59 meters while Jenee Moore came in eighth in the long jump event (5.37).
At Bob Devaney Sports Center in Lincoln, Bilal-Mack established a new career-best with a time of 1:25.77 in the 600-yard run while Terri Davenport earned ECAC automatic qualification with a 200-meter dash clip of 24.87. In addition, ECU's 4x400 relay squad, which consisted of Bilal-Mack, Davenport, Portia Baker and Chante Sessoms, produced a Lady Pirates' best thus far this season with a time of 3:54.32 to stand eighth.
The Lady Pirates will be back in action next weekend at the Sykes-Sabock Challenge Cup at the Multi-Sport Facility at University Park on the Penn State University campus.
