GREENVILLE, N.C. – East Carolina welcomes in-state opponents Campbell and Elon to Greenville Tuesday and Wednesday for single non-conference contests at the ECU Softball Stadium. The Pirates and Camels will square off at 5 p.m. Tuesday while the Purple and Gold will face the Phoenix Wednesday at 4 p.m.
Â
ECU holds a 9-6 record at home this year and has defeated Virginia, Virginia Tech and Pittsburgh – among others – inside the friendly confines. Campbell and Elon are 2-6 and 2-2 on the road respectively.
Â
The Pirates (15-13 overall) defeated host Texas Tech and fell twice to Saint Francis (Pa.) over the weekend at the Jeannine McHaney Memorial Classic in Lubbock, Texas. East Carolina was down 4-2 in the fifth inning against the Red Raiders before a three-run home run by redshirt junior catcher Alex Mycek sparked a four-run rally that put ECU ahead for good and secured victory in the first-ever meeting between the teams.
Â
East Carolina is hitting .268 as a team led by Mycek's .368 batting average. The Pirates lead the American Athletic Conference in slugging percentage (.481), doubles (38), home runs (36) and walks drawn (110). Mycek paces the circuit in slugging percentage (.882), on base percentage (.511), home runs (10), total bases (60) and walks drawn (20). She is also ninth nationally in total home runs.

About Campbell
The Camels (17-15 overall) enter Tuesday's affair with some momentum after taking two of three in their Big South Conference opening series against defending league champion Longwood in Buies Creek, including a 9-2 triumph in the rubber game Sunday. Amber Schisler paces a Campbell offense that is hitting .305 as a team. She owns the top mark on the squad in batting average (.409), slugging percentage (.763), on base percentage (.563), home runs (9), RBI (30) and walks drawn (22). The Camel pitching staff sports a 4.41 earned run average as Schisler leads the way with a 3.55 ERA in 45.1 innings of work. Katie Baker is 7-6 with a 4.22 ERA and a team-best 53 strikeouts.
