RESULT
GREENVILLE, N.C. --- A trio of players recorded a hat for Columbia as the Lions defeated ECU, 18-6, Saturday at Johnson Stadium. The Pirates only trailed by a goal seven minutes into the game before Columbia scored five straight goals to take control of the contest.

Columbia led 8-3 at halftime and extended its lead to 13-6 in the first 10 minutes of the second half before adding five goals in the final 18 minutes.

GAME FACTS

Mackell Schultes led the Pirates with two goals with Lily Avazis, Nicole LeGar, Liz Blumthal and Megan Pallozzi each added a goal.
Victoria Kalamaras, Emily Manville and Fallon Quinn each scored three goals for the Lions.
Columbia took 18 more shots than the Pirates, 42-24.
ECU won 16 of 27 draw controls with Morgan Cheripko winning seven. Pallozzi had three and Blumthal had two.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Columbia opened the game by scoring three of the first four goals.
Blumthal brought ECU with a goal at 3-2 before the Lions scored five straight goals to take an 8-2 lead.
Pallozzi capped the first half with a goal at 9:40.
The Lions opened the second half by scoring four of the first five goals.
Schultes scored the Pirates' final two goals with the final goal coming with 19:40 to play.
Columbia ended the game with five unanswered goals to claim and 18-6 victory.
