HONOLULU, Hawai'i. – The ECU softball team ended the Aloha Tournament with a 1-0 loss to UTEP Sunday at the Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium.   Â

How It Happened: The game progressed through the first three innings with minimal offense, but UTEP struck first in the bottom of the fourth with a RBI double off the bat of Pamala Baber to stake the Miners to a 1-0 advantage. ECU had a prime opportunity to answer right away, getting runners to second and third with one out in the top of the fifth, but two grounders terminated the threat. With one last chance in the top of the seventh, the Pirates had runners on the corners with two outs only to see a groundout end the contest.
