Pirates Fall At Michigan To Open Road Trip

ANN ARBOR, Mich. --- After Megan Pallozzi gave ECU 1-0 lead, Michigan scored three unanswered goals and never trailed again as it defeated the Pirates 16-9 at U-M Lacrosse Stadium Saturday.

- Freshmen Nicole LeGar, Mackell Schultes and Pallozzi each scored two goals for ECU. It was Pallozzi's sixth multi-goal game of the season, Schultes' fifth and Legar's fourth.
- Cailtin Muir and Adriana Pendino each recorded a hat trick for the Wolverines.
- Michigan took 15 more shots than ECU, 38-23.
- The Wolverines converted 4-of-12 free position shots, while the Pirates were 1-of-3.
- ECU was successful on 16-of-19 clear attempts and Michigan converted 17-of-18 opportunities.

- Pallozzi gave the Pirates a 1-0 lead less than two minutes into the game before Michigan scored three unanswered.
- Sam Caputo made it a one goal game with 19:46 left before halftime, then the Wolverines scored four straight goals over the next 6:32 for a 7-2 lead.
- Pallozzi interrupted the Wolverines' scoring streak with her second goal of the afternoon only. UM followed with three unanswered goals before Schultes scored with 29 seconds left in the half. Michigan led 10-4 at halftime.
- The Wolverines scored four of the first five goals of the second half and built a 14-5 lead.
- Legar scored the game's next two goals with assists from Ally Stanton on each.
- Mae Tarr and Maggie Kane capped the scoring for Michigan with 4:15 to play.
- Lily Avazis and Emma Bowman scored the final two goals for ECU.
