GREENVILLE, N.C. – Following a road loss, the ECU women's lacrosse team returns home for an afternoon matchup against Vermont on Sunday.
ECU (5-2) went to Liberty riding a three-game losing streak, but an early deficit was too much for the Pirates to overcome. Â Ally Stanton and Brittany Borchers lead the team with 20 points each, with Stanton tallying 11 goals and nine assists while Borchers has nine goals and 11 assists. Megan Pallozzi leads the Pirates with 14 goals this season while Nicole LeGar has 20 draw controls. Christina White has started all seven games in the cage for ECU and has 73 saves to lead the American Conference.
Vermont (3-1) has won both of its road games so far this season and have a defense that is ranked in the top-20 in the nation. Maddy Kuras has played every minute in goal for Vermont and is allowing just 8.72 goals per game while making 40 saves. Elise Koehl leads the team with 15 points, including a team-best 13 goals. Alex Vignona has handed out 10 assists while Jenna Janes has 10 goals and four assists of her own. It will be the first ever meeting between ECU and Vermont.
