GREENVILLE, N.C. – After a close home loss to open the league schedule, the ECU women's lacrosse team goes for its first AAC win when the Pirates host Cincinnati on Saturday afternoon inside Johnson Stadium.

ECU (5-7, 0-1 AAC) is coming off a close home loss to Vanderbilt in its inaugural American Athletic contest. The Pirates went toe-to-toe with the Commodores in the first half, but a scoreless streak in the second stanza doomed ECU to a 14-10 loss.

Ally Stanton leads ECU with 28 points on 17 goals and 11 assists after scoring a hat trick against Vanderbilt. Right behind her is Nicole LeGar, who has 27 points on 21 goals and six assists. LeGar has two game-winning goals, tying her for the conference lead. Brittany Borchers continues to lead ECU in assists, with 14 helpers to go with 12 goals. LeGar has been the most productive Pirate at the draw circle, grabbing 51 draw controls while Hannah Melton has a team-best 11 caused turnovers. Christina White is second in the conference, averaging 9.9 saves per game. She has 119 saves in total as well as scooping up 32 ground balls.

Cincinnati (7-5, 1-0 AAC) opened its AAC schedule with an 11-9 win over UConn and has won four straight games. The Bearcats are led by the conference's top goal-producer in Monica Borzillo. Borzillo leads the conference in both assists (31) and points (70) while ranking second in goals (39). She also gets it done on the defensive end, as Borzillo has a league-high 27 caused turnovers. Sam Mlkvy leads Cincinnati at the draw circle, pulling in 60 draw controls to put her second in the conference. Giuliana Durso has been the main goalkeeper for the Bearcats, amking 101 saves on a .441 save percentage.

The game is slated to get started at 12 noon on Saturday afternoon. It will be broadcast on the American Digital Network with Lincoln Rose, Kit McConnico and Marilyn Payne on the call. The game will be free to attend for all fans.
