
ECU Travels South To River Landing

GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina women's golf team continues its spring schedule Monday heading to Wallace, N.C. to participate in the River Landing Classic. The two-day, 54-hole event is being held at the par-72, 5,960-yard Landing Course.

The Pirates, who finished seventh at the Palmetto Intercollegiate, will be joined in the 13-team field with Charleston Southern, Coastal Carolina, East Tennessee State, Elon, Florida Atlantic, High Point, James Madison, Marshall, N.C. A&T, Richmond, Rutgers and host UNCW.

Second-year head coach CC Buford will us a lineup consisting of 2019 All-American Athletic Conference honorees Kathryn Carson (senior) and Dorthea Forbrigd (senior), along with Michelle Forsland (senior), Julie Boysen Hillestad (junior) and Oda Sofie Kilsti (sophomore). Sophomore Caroline Hermes will also participate in this weekend's event as an individual for the Pirates.

Forbrigd will carry the honorary Major Mikeal Murray bag for this event. The Pirates are participating in the Folds of Honor Tribute Program where the players rotate in carrying the bag from tournament to tournament. Once the golf season ends, the bag will be auctioned off and all proceeds will go towards Folds of Honor scholarships.
The 54-hole tournament begins with 36 holes Monday (8:45 a.m. EDT) followed by 18 holes on Tuesday at 9 a.m. (EDT). Pirate fans can get updated scoring throughout the event by logging on to www.GolfStat.com.
