GREENVILLE, N.C. - The East Carolina lacrosse team is set to travel to the other Greenville for a date with Furman in the Palmetto State on Saturday. Though the game will not be streamed, live stats will be available as well as updates on ECU Lacrosse socials.

Last Time Out
The Pirates got off to a sluggish start and were never able to meaningfully draw back into the game on the road against a tremendous Navy squad on Saturday. The Midshipmen dominated on the draw 18-7 with Alyssa Daly taking 11 by herself. Offensively, Kayla Wilkes and Leah Bestany both scored a pair of goals for the Pirates with Wilkes also contributing three ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers.

Scouting the Midshipmen
Furman enters the game having dropped a tough contest on the road against Elon in their last game. After taking a 3-2 lead through 15 minutes of play, the Paladins allowed a 6-0 second quarter to blow the game open and never quite clawed back into it. Sophie Shaw led the team with six points on three goals and three assists in the game. Shaw leads the team through three games with 14 points while Anna Roser has posted a team-high 13 goals.

Series History
The Pirates and Paladins have met three times before with their first matchup coming in 2020. It was a 14-11 Furman win that day but since then it's been the Pirates controlling the series, including an 18-5 thumping on the road last season. Leah Bestany led all scorers with five goals in the game while Caroline Kimel and Sophia LoCicero each contributed hat tricks. Kimel also posted three assists in the game.
