GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina lacrosse team remains out on the road to take on Coastal Carolina for an early game Saturday with opening draw at 11 a.m. The game will not be available for streaming.
Last Time Out
The Pirates saw a close game get away form them as Elon used a five-goal run to turn a 7-7 game into a 12-7 final margin. ECU didn't score for greater than 28 minutes to finish the game despite the Jaime Behar's eight saves and 15 turnovers forced for the Phoenix. Prior to that game-sealing run, neither team had led by more than a goal. Kayla Wilkes led the Pirates in scoring with three goals and no other player recorded more than one score. Defensively, Emma Magazu once again led the way with three caused turnovers.Â
Scouting the Chanticleers
Coastal Carolina enters the game with a few more games under their belt and a 3-2 record after going on the road for wins over Gardner-Webb and Wofford in their last two. On the season, the Chanticleers have gotten a well rounded scoring effort with six players recording seven or more goals. Maddie Bates leads the way with 12 tallies while Brigid Cardillo, despite only three games played, leads the team with 22 points. On the draw, look for Evelyn Kitchin to factor significantly into the game with her 39 DCs on the year to pace the team while on the defensive side of the ball it's been Charlotte Sadler getting the start in every game in goal with 32 saves made this season.Â

Saturday will be the first ever meeting between the Pirates and Chanticleers.
