BUIES CREEK, N.C. - The East Carolina lacrosse team lost to the Campbell Camels, 16-9, in a road contest Sunday afternoon.

The Pirates got the game's first goal from Rachel Chessock but soon found themselves down 6-3 after a quarter and never really got back into the game. It was 10-5 at the half and ECU did not manage another goal until the 13:14 mark of the fourth quarter at which point the team had gone down by nine goals.

Campbell (8-1) was led by four-goal efforts by Paige White and Emma Penkunas. Drew Watkins had 10 draw controls to help the Camels to an 18-9 margin in the category.

ECU was led by Chessock's hat tricks as no other Pirate scored more than a single goal. In cage, Jaime Behar played three quarters, making five saves in the loss, while Adria Welsh made 10 saves for Campbell.
