GREENVILLE, N.C. - The East Carolina lacrosse team will return home to host Elon in Johnson Stadium on Wednesday at 5 p.m. A feed will be available for streaming on ecupirates.com.
Last Time Out
The Pirates got back in the win column on the road at Furman powered by a program record 20 draw controls as a team. Ellie Bromley was phenomenal in the game, posting three goals, two caused turnovers and racking up nine draw controls - tied for sixth most in program history. Frances Kimel, Erin Gulden and Kayla Wilkes all recorded hat tricks in the game as well with Gulden and Kimel adding three assists each.
Scouting the Phoenix
Elon enters the game with a 3-2 record following a close home loss, 8-7, against Coastal Carolina in their last contest. Coastal scored the final two goals in the game with under eight minutes to play to come behind for the win. Sammy Fisher did lead the Phoenix with three goals while Caitlin Walsh made eight saves. On the year, Anna Hackett and Cierra Hopson lead the team with over 10 goals each while Ana Lee Vandiver paces the squad with 13 points.
Series History
The Pirates and Phoenix met for the first time last season, a 16-11 win for ECU on the road. Frances Kimel matched the program record for points in a game as she posted four goals and four assists in the game while Leah Bestany tallied four goals of her own. Brynn Knight got the W in goal with nine saves made.
Major Milestone
With her first goal against Furman, Frances Kimel became the third player in ECU history to score 100 goals in a career. At 102, she is now just 17 goals shy of the program record set by Nicole LeGar (119). Kimel already owns the program record for career points and assists.
