GREENVILLE, N.C. - The East Carolina lacrosse team will look to bounce back as they travel to play William & Mary at noon Saturday. The game will not be available for streaming.
Last Time Out
The Pirates dropped a disappointing home loss to Elon on Wednesday night. The team took a beating on the draw to the tune of 22-5 and despite forcing 14 turnovers, were never able to fully overcome the lack of possession. Frances Kimel did score four goals and Ellie Bromley did record a hat trick with four ground balls, four draw controls and four caused turnovers in the loss.
Scouting the Tribe
William & Mary enters the season with a 2-3 record following a road loss to VCU last time out. The Tribe have shown signs of growth this season, taking George Mason to OT in their opener before defeating Old Dominion and George Washington. Kate Draddy leads the team with 11 points on the year as well as a team-high 19 draw controls. Elise Palmer has gotten all five starts in cage and has posted a .451 save percentage thus far.
Series History
The Pirates and Tribe have met once before, a 2022 contest in Greenville which the Pirates took, 16-6. Leah Bestany put up five goals in that game while Nicole LeGar posted four points on a pair of goals and assists. Brynn Knight was excellent in the game, making nine saves and allowing just six goals to pick up the win.
