GREENVILLE, N.C. - The East Carolina lacrosse team is set for another tough road test at No. 4Â James Madison on Saturday at noon. Despite there being no video stream, James Madison will have a radio broadcast available.
Last Time Out
The Pirates hung tough with the No. 9 North Carolina Tar Heels on Tuesday. Despite a 6-2 first quarter, the team battled hard to just a 5-4 second quarter and held UNC scoreless in the third. The Tar Heels were able to add three goals in the fourth quarter but not without Jaime Behar's impressive 11 saves made in the game. Offensively Erin Gulden and Carli Johnston both scored a pair of goals and Frances Kimel recorded four assists.
Scouting the Dukes
James Madison enters the game with the No. 4Â beside their name and only one loss on their schedule, an 11-8 battle against ninth-ranked Maryland on the road in their last contest. The Dukes are led by the trio of Isabella Peterson, Maddie Epke and Kacey Knobloch who have all already recorded 30 points on the season. Peterson leads the charge with 26 goals while Epke has already posted 59 draw controls.
Series HistoryÂ
The Pirates and Dukes met for the first time last season, a 19-5 win for James Madison in which they led by seven goals after one quarter of play and never looked back. Camryn Pennypacker and Frances Kimel were the lone Pirates with multiple points in the loss.
