GREENVILLE, N.C. - The East Carolina lacrosse team is set to resume conference play at Cincinnati on Saturday. Opening draw is set for 12 p.m. on ESPN+.
Last Time Out
The Pirates nearly made a miraculous comeback, erasing a nine-goal deficit against Duke on Tuesday night to get within on goal three times in the fourth quarter. The Pirates used an 8-0 run and a 5-0 third quarter to roar back into the game powered by hat tricks by Ellie Bromley, Erin Gulden and Sarah Goodison, the first of Goodison's career.
Scouting the Bearcats
Cincinnati enters the game having a fabulous season with an 8-4 record. The team did drop their last contest to James Madison but had won three-straight games entering that game. The team is led by Lauren Ottensmeyer and Camryn Callaghan with 45 and 43 goals apiece and a combined 102 points on the season. In goal, Victoria Macres has gotten the majority of the work with an impressive .522 save percentage and just 8.74 goals allowed per game.
Series HistoryÂ
The Pirates and Bearcats have had one of them more compelling series in program history over the last six years with each side taking three games apiece. ECU took last year's meeting 18-8 in a dominant showing in Johnson Stadium. Camryn Pennypacker and Frances Kimel both put up four goals in the game with Kimel adding an assist for a five-point outing.
