GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina lacrosse team concludes its swing through the Golden State on Wednesday afternoon at 4 p.m. ET as they do battle with UC Davis in a neutral site contest in San Diego. There will not be a video stream available for the game.
Last Time Out
The Pirates came up a goal short in a barn-burner with San Diego State, 17-16. In a game where the lead swung back and forth throughout, it was the hosts who got the last laugh with a game-winning goal with just 45 seconds remaining. ECU had periods of excellent play throughout the game but were ultimately unable to seal the deal.
Scouting the Aggies
UC Davis enters the game with a similarly difficult record of 1-5 on the year. Playing through a difficult schedule, their lone win came in a 20-15 contest against the Oregon Ducks. Offensively Grace Gebhardt's 19 points on 15 goals and four assists paces the team while Ally Richardson-Pepper has played every minute in goal with 59 saves to 90 goals allowed. Annie Cimperman is a player to watch to watch as she's accumulated a team-high 37 draw controls on the season.
Series History
Wednesday will be the first ever meeting between the Pirates and Aggies.
Career Best
Despite the loss, Jaime Behar had a career day against San Diego State with 13 saves made. That ranks 12th in program history in a single game.
Career Milestone
In another career-high effort, Leah Bestany recorded a new high with four assists to go with two goals scored against San Diego State. More notably, the senior recorded her 100th career point in the game, now with 103. She is the sixth player in program history to reach the milestone and stands tied with Ellie Bromley for fifth most points in program history.
