Pirates Set for Home Opener Sunday

GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina lacrosse team is finally set for its 2025 home opener after five games on the road, welcoming Quinnipiac to Johnson Stadium at noon on Sunday. Admission is free for the game and for those unable to attend, the game will be available for streaming on ESPN+ with Evan Budrovich and Gabby Sartori on the call.

Last Time Out
The Pirates enter the game after taking a thumping to UC Davis in San Diego on Wednesday. The team never led and trailed by as many as 11 goals in the game. Kayla Wilkes led the team in scoring with three goals while defensively, two keepers combined for only four saves on 21 shots on goal by the Aggies. Remarkably, the Pirates did have more shots on goal than UC Davis, but keeper Ally Richardson-Pepper kept them in check with her 13 saves.

Scouting the Bobcats
Quinnipiac enters the game with a 5-2 record after seeing a three-game win streak snapped in a 16-13 loss at Bryant last Saturday. On the year, the team is led by Abby Wise with 31 points on 14 goals and 17 assists, while three other Bobcats have scored greater than 17 goals on the year, led by Cate Bendowski's 19. Defensively, Emma Miller-Ayala leads the squad with 13 caused turnovers while Shannon Alden has gotten the majority of the minutes in goal with 89 saves to just 72 goals allowed.

Series History
Sunday will be the first ever meeting between the Pirates and Bobcats.
