GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina lacrosse team heads to Buies Creek to take on the Campbell Camels at 2 p.m. on Sunday. The game will not be streamed.
Last Time Out
The Pirates downed San Diego State last Saturday, 15-7. Sarah Goodison had a career day with seven points on four goals and four assists while Kayla Wilkes had the kind of day she's become accustomed to with a goal, an assist, three ground balls and three caused turnovers. In goal, Jaime Behar just missed her career high with 15 saves in a dominant win.
Scouting Campbell
The Camels have been on a tear to open the season with a 7-1 record, winning their last seven after a season opening loss at Jacksonville. The team has spent a while on the road, their last six contests coming away from home, including a 13-11 win over Wofford in their last outing. Statistically, McKenna Duncan leads the team with 28 points on 11 goals and 17 assists while Caroline Laur has scored a team-high 18 goals. Paige White has also tallied 20 points. On the other side of the ball, Hailey Kohlmann has tallied 27 caused turnovers and 27 ground balls, both team highs. In goal, Adria Welsh has gotten most of the run, making 55 saves for a 6-1 record.
Series History
The Pirates and Camels have met six times, ECU holding a 4-2 lead overall, most recently a 20-8 win in Greenville in 2023. Camryn Pennypacker, Caroline Kimel and Sophia Locicero all scored four goals in the game while Brynn Knight got the start in goal, making five saves to just five goals allowed. Pennypacker had a complete game that day, also adding three caused turnovers and two ground balls. Sydney Frank led ECU to a 16-15 margin on the draw with six draw controls.
In The Community  Â
The program has made it a focus to strive not only for success on the field and in the classroom, but as representatives in the community. As a team, the Pirates logged 595.5 hours of community service in the fall.
Aspire
Assistant coach Kaelin Hogan graduated from the IWLCA's Aspire Program this spring. According to the organization, "The IWLCA Aspire program was designed to enhance coaches' professional skills, capabilities, and self-awareness through the dynamic blended learning approach."
At the Helm
The Pirates are entering year three under the leadership of head coach Brittany Dipper. Dipper has compiled an 14-24 record with a marked jump from her first to second seasons building anticipation for a successful 2026 campaign.
