Series History
The Pirates and Tribe have met three times with a 2-1 edge for ECU among games in 2022, 2024 and 2025. Last season, it was a home win for the Pirates, 14-13, in which Finley Hoffman tied the game up for William & Mary with 2:50 remaining before Rachel Chessock scored the winner for ECU with just over two minutes to play. Kayla Wilkes scored a game-high five goals in that game while also assisting on Chessock's decisive goal. The Pirates scored three of the final four goals of the game after relinquishing an 11-6 lead in the third quarter to hold on for the victory.
League Leading Magazu
Emma Magazu leads the American Conference in ground balls per game with 3.00 per game.
Good Season
Sarah Goodison is having herself a breakout year. After missing most of last season due to injury, and entering 2026 with just two multi-point games in her career, after Saturday, she has just as many games with SEVEN points this season. She's got eight multi-point games this season in total.
First Career Start
Maeve Meehan earned her first career start in cage against Vanderbilt and played well with 11 saves, nearly helping ECU to a signature conference win. It is the third most saves in a first career start in program history behind only Christina White (13) and Abby Smith (12), both from the program's first season in 2018.
In The Community  Â
The program has made it a focus to strive not only for success on the field and in the classroom, but as representatives in the community. As a team, the Pirates logged 595.5 hours of community service in the fall.
